چکیده

Neurological complications following allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) are most frequently caused by the immunosuppressive regimen, infections and cerebrovascular disorders. Several papers have been reported the transmission of autoimmune diseases from the donor to the recipient after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation possibly due to the transfer of pathogenic cells or antibodies. Antibodies to antigens of the central nervous system (CNS) have been reported to play a role in a number of neurological diseases including paraneoplastic syndromes, Rasmussen’s encephalitis (RE) and epilepsy. We describe the case of a 20 years old man who developed, after allogeneic BMT, a myoclonic encephalitis refractory to common anti-epileptic drugs whose serum and CSF harbored high levels of anti-GluR3 antibodies.

Treatment of intractable autoimmune diseases in MRL/lpr mice using a new strategy for allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.

A new bone marrow transplantation (BMT) method for treating severe autoimmune diseases in chimeric resistant MRL/lpr mice is presented. The method consists of fractionated irradiation (5.5 Gy x 2), followed by portal venous (PV) injection of whole bone marrow cells (BMCs) from allogeneic normal C57BL/6 (B6) mice and intravenous (IV) injection of whole B6 BMCs 5 days after the PV injection (abbr...

Anti-HLA Antibodies and Kidney Allograft Outcomes in Recipients with Donor Bone Marrow Cell Infusion

Background: Anti-HLA-antibodies are known to affect the allograft survival in transplant recipient patients. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between anti-HLA antibodies and kidney allograft outcomes, particularly in recipients with concur-rent donor bone marrow cell infusion (DBMI). Methods: Between June 2006 and May 2007, forty living unrelated donor kidney tra...

Increased presence of anti-HLA antibodies early after allogeneic granulocyte colony-stimulating factor-mobilized peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cell transplantation compared with bone marrow transplantation.

We have recently shown that the use of allogeneic granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-mobilized peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (PBHSCT), as compared with bone marrow transplantation (BMT), is associated with increased titers of antibodies (Abs) directed against red blood cell ABO antigens. To further evaluate the influence of a G-CSF-mobilized PBHSCT graft on...

In Vitro Inhibition of Normal Human Hematopoiesis by Marrow

We previously demonstrated that after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) a subset of CDB, HNK1, and DR-positive T lymphocytes are able to inhibit CFU-GM and BFU-E growth with an HLA-DR restriction. In this study we investigated whether these cells. present in normal marrow in low concentration (<1 %). play the same role. HNK1-positlve sorted marrow cells forming rosettes (E C) were ab...

Antibodies specifically target AML antigen NuSAP1 after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.

Identifying the targets of immune response after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) promises to provide relevant immune therapy candidate proteins. We used protein microarrays to serologically identify nucleolar and spindle-associated protein 1 (NuSAP1) and chromatin assembly factor 1, subunit B (p60; CHAF1b) as targets of new antibody responses that developed after allogeneic ...
